What is the difference between Resistive, Capacitive and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Touch Technology?
What is the difference between Resistive, Capacitive and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Touch Technology?
In general, all three types of touch technology are doing the same thing, replacing the mouse functionality with an interactive touch on the screen. However, there are some differences between the three.
Resistive touchscreens rely on a fingertip or any other object to record input. You must press to make the screen work. Resistive touch is very accurate. This technology is the most common type of touch screen in the market and therefore cost effective. It is widely used in point-of-sale, industrial and medical applications.
Capacitive touchscreens don’t rely on pressure, but instead use sense-conductivity to record input. You don’t have to press down, but you do have to use a fingertip. Capacitive is more durable than Resistive Touch. These screens have good optical and wear properties and are widely used in gaming, kiosks and point-of-sale applications.
Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) is the optical standard of touchscreens. Its pure glass construction provides superior optical performance and makes it the most scratch resistant technology available. Surface wave is widely used in kiosks, gaming and office automation applications.Warranty / Returns
